Darlene Kooistra of Thunder Bay dies after Arthur Street collision

Thunder Bay police are asking for witnesses to come forward after a fatal collision involving a pickup truck and a mobility scooter on Friday afternoon.

Thunder Bay police have identified the victim of a fatal collision Friday involving a pickup truck and a mobility scooter.

Police said 75-year-old Darlene Kooistra of Thunder Bay died after her scooter was struck in the crosswalk while she was crossing Arthur Street at Edward Street at about one p.m.

According to a police news release, the pickup truck was in the process of making a right turn from Edward onto Arthur.

Traffic officers are continuing to investigate the incident. Police are asking any witnesses to the collision to contact them.
