Sudbury Police investigate fatal pedestrian collision

Greater Sudbury Police say their traffic unit is continuing to investigate a collision that left a female pedestrian dead.

Police and Emergency Medical Services were called after the woman was struck on Municipal Road 80 near Elmview in Hanmer.

It happened Tuesday morning at around 6:50 a.m.

The woman was taken to Health Sciences North with life-threatening injuries and has since died.

Police say the name of the woman is being withheld at the request of her family.
