Porcupine Health Unit reports second COVID-19 case at another retirement home

Today's three positive cases of COVID-19 being reported by The Porcupine Health Unit include a staff member at a retirement home.

The Porcupine Health Unit today reported three new cases of COVID-19 and one of them is a staff member at St. Mary's Gardens, a retirement home in Timmins.

This is the second case involving a retirement home, according to the health unit.

There's also a case at the Spruce Hill Lodge in South Porcupine, involving a resident there.

The investigation at St. Mary's Gardens is ongoing, according to a statement from the health unit. There is no link to travel or any other cases. The individual is in self-isolation.

The health unit's total of confirmed positive cases is now 45.

The Porcupine Health Unit says there are now COVID-19 Assessment Centres in Kapuskasing, Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls and Hornepayne, and people need an appointment before showing up.
