Northern issues debate among Ontario party leaders set for Feb. 14 in North Bay

The leaders of Ontario's four main parties will be in North Bay on Feb. 14 for a debate on northern issues, less than two weeks before voters go to the polls.

The leaders of Ontario's four main political parties will be in North Bay on Feb. 14 for a northern issues debate.

Less than two weeks before the Feb. 27 provincial election, the debate will be hosted by the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM) and feature:

  • Doug Ford, Progressive Conservatives.
  • Bonnie Crombie, Liberals.
  • Marit Stiles, New Democratic Party.
  • Mike Schreiner, Green Party.

CBC Radio Morning North host Markus Schwabe will moderate the debate and pose questions on behalf of FONOM, with a special focus on northern Ontario issues. 

It's scheduled to start at 1 p.m. ET and will take place at Canadore College's G-Wing Theatre. 

Following the 90-minute debate, it's expected the four leaders will answer media questions during a scrum.
