The provincial Ministry of Transportation is awaiting the results of an investigation into last month's train derailment west of Sudbury.

A Huron Central Railway train jumped the tracks near Fairbank Provincial Park on June 13. Fifteen cars turned over, spilling steel coil.

No one was injured.

The Transportation Safety Board did a preliminary investigation and just confirmed with the ministry this week that it will share its findings soon.

The ministry said it will then decide what to do next.

Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca has requested a meeting with his federal counterpart. He said he wants to speak with Lisa Raitt about rail safety in Ontario.
