Brooks wears Howe's iconic Detroit Red Wings jersey on stage
Mr. Country Music paid tribute to Mr. Hockey on Friday.
Garth Brooks took the stage in Saskatoon wearing Gordie Howe's iconic No. 9 Detroit Red Wings jersey.
Howe, who died today at the age of 88, moved to Saskatoon as a child from Floral, Sask.

A statue of Howe stands outside of SaskTel Centre, the venue where Brooks is playing his second concert of six this week.
A Howe flag was also raised this morning outside of the arena that sits on Gordie Howe Lane.
