EcoStyles exhibit new addition to HomeStyles show in Saskatoon
Show opens at Prairieland Park Thursday, runs through Sunday
If you're looking for greener ways to run your home or upgrade it, there's a special section for you at this year's HomeStyles show at Saskatoon's Prairieland Park.
At EcoStyles you can find paving materials and garden mulch made from recycled rubber, technology to help you cut your water use by up to 30 per cent, an eco-friendly homebuilder and more.
The demand for greener building and renovation techniques "is certainly something that we hear about often," said Chris Guerette, chief executive officer of the Saskatoon & Region Home Builders' Association, the group that puts on the annual HomeStyles show.
The EcoStyles main stage "is really a learning lab," Guerette said, where a lineup of celebrities and local experts tackle topics including eco-building and eco-living.
The show has partnered with Habitat for Humanity in an upcycling challenge, taking old items such as furniture and revamping them. The results will be auctioned off at the end of the show on Sunday.
EcoStyles is in addition to more than 200 other exhibitors featuring everything from landscaping to the latest in home appliances.
HomeStyles runs Thursday through Sunday.
