Saskatoon expected to set record high, Regina well above average
Environment Canada is forecasting a high of 18 C on Tuesday afternoon
After a long battle that saw winter and spring slug it out for seasonal supremacy, summer is looking to get in on the action in Saskatoon today.
Environment Canada is calling for a high of 18 C today in the Bridge City. Saskatoon's record high for March 31 is 16.2 C in 1991. The average high this time of year is 4.7 C.
While Regina isn't expected to break a record today, it could come close. The Queen City is also expected to hit a high of 18 C, but the number to beat is 19.7 C, set in 2004.
Even if Regina does not hit the record, today will be well above the average high of 5 C.
Saskatoon is expected to fall short of the record high for the month of March, set 105 years ago on March 23, 1910 when the temperature climbed to 22.8 C.
