Despite losing out of the WHL playoffs last month, the Saskatoon Blades are busier than ever.

The team is hosting the Memorial Cup in Saskatoon next month. As host team, the Blades automatically get a slot in the championship.

Coach Lorne Molleken said the team has a lot of work ahead, including finding out what went wrong in the playoffs.

"Well you know what? It hasn't been a whole lot of fun over the last little while, and obviously we're trying to pinpoint what happened. (But) we have a good idea," he said.

Molleken plans to put the team through a rigorous training said over the next month, the team will be going through a rigorous training process. They are also set to have practice games against professional players.

"If there is a silver lining in this, obviously that is it. We're going to be 100 per cent healthy, we're going to be well-rested, and we're going to be going against some teams that have gone through the grind of the playoffs," he said.

The Blades players are staying positive.

"We got tons of time to prepare," said forward Brett Stovin. "We got a week here to skate hard, we got maybe another week to get going, and we should be back, fit and ready to go."

The Memorial Cup kicks off May 17th in Saskatoon.
