The bells at the Knox Metropolitan Church in Regina rang in honour of the new royal baby girl to Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William.

You may have heard the bells toll at the Knox Metropolitan United Church in downtown Regina Saturday morning.

The Regina Bellringers, who toll the bells at the church, say they rang the bells for up to an hour to mark the birth of the new royal baby girl to Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William.

When the new princess' brother, Prince George, was born in 2013, the Regina Bellringers tolled the tune Aberdeen Surprise Royal to mark the occasion.

The Regina Bellringers head to the tower and chime the bells for various reasons, including to alert people in Regina about news relating to the monarchies of the world such as births, deaths and weddings.
