Chef Mariana Brito hails from Tijuana, Mexico, where she attended Culinary Art School before training in Spain, New York, & South Carolina, with chefs of Michelin starred restaurants.

For two years, Mariana has been working on her project The Backyard where she combines her global background with a passion for organic food & strong relationships with farmers, centring the flavours of modern Mexican cuisine in the landscape of the Canadian prairie.

Every ingredient is fresh, organic and ethically-sourced from Saskatchewan farmers. Every meal prepared brings together her commitment to excellence, integrity and sheer determination demonstrating how diverse, flavourful and nourishing Saskatchewan grown food can be.

Mariana is exploring a non-profit side to her business to tie together her desire to educate and train with her passion for healthy and organic foods.

Mariana Brito is raising the bar, changing the culinary landscape and expanding our understanding of what is possible in Saskatchewan!
