Horses, cows, BBQ in downtown Regina for Agribition kickoff
5 Regina restaurants compete for best beef dish as part of event
There were horses, cattle and a big barbecue in downtown Regina on Tuesday for the kickoff of Agribition Month.
Canadian Western Agribition, the largest agricultural and livestock show in the country, takes place in the Queen City on Nov. 21-26.
Five restaurants from around the city participated in a cook-off at the downtown event.
Anyone who bought a $4 ticket to the barbecue could cast a ballot for their favourite beef dish.
The results will be released later this week with the winner to receive the Agribition BBQ Trophy.
It was also announced that Agribition will be teaming up with Country Thunder Music Festivals to provide live music during Agribition. Local bands will be playing all week long.
In addition to showcasing livestock and agriculture products, Agribition will feature events throughout the week of Nov. 21-26, including a rodeo and live jousting.
