Saguenay flood, remembered five years later

It was five years ago July 20, that heavy rains and severe flooding devastated Quebec's Saguenay region. Ten people died, including two children. Thousands were forced from their homes. And for many, the memory is still a painful one.

The flood made news across the country and around the world. But many people refuse to talk about the flood.

Local writer Suzanne Robichaud says it' still difficult for them. "Many people feel that talking about it will change nothing," she says.

Whether they talk about it or not, Robichaud says the flood will go down as one of Quebec's worst natural disasters, and something the region will never forget.
