Three shot guns, a revolver and a semi-automatic pistol are among the firearms listed in criminal charges laid against former RCMP member Jeffrey Rae Gillis.

The weapons are named in court documents filed Friday in Charlottetown provincial court.

Gillis, 43, is facing 12 weapons related charges after police say more than 70 firearms were seized from his P.E.I. home last winter.

He's also charged with breach of trust for falsely reporting the destruction of firearms to government agencies.

Those alleged false reports involved two 12-gauge shotguns, a 10-gauge shotgun, a .357-calibre revolver and a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol.

Court documents allege Gillis verbally and in writing falsified reports to Wade MacKinnon, P.E.I.'s chief conservation officer, and to the P.E.I. fire arms office.

Gillis is also accused of filing false electronic reports.

Island RCMP say Gillis voluntarily retired from the force earlier this year.

Gillis also faces charges of assault and uttering threats from an unrelated incident in February.

None of the allegations against Gillis has been proven in court. He has not entered pleas to any charges.

He is slated to appear in court  August 15.
