Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre to visit P.E.I. on Tuesday

Pierre Poilievre is set to make his first campaign stop on Prince Edward Island on Tuesday. 

Poilievre's stop on the Island will be 1st by a federal party leader since election campaign began

Conservative Party of Canada Leader Pierre Poilievre is set to make his first campaign visit to Prince Edward Island on Tuesday. 

Poilievre will land at the Charlottetown airport before visiting a local pub. Then, he will head to Borden-Carleton for a Canada First Rally at the former McCain Foods plant at 6:30 p.m. 

Poilievre's visit to P.E.I. will be the first from a federal leader since the election campaign began last week. 

The party's deputy leader, Melissa Lantsman, visited the Island on the first day of the election campaign to deliver an announcement about the Conservatives' pledge to eliminate tolls on the Confederation Bridge. 

That announcement came days after P.E.I. Premier Rob Lantz said Liberal Leader Mark Carney made a verbal commitment to deliver "positive news" to Islanders regarding tolls on the bridge and fees for the Northumberland ferry service just before the election campaign kicked off.
