A woman was hit by a vehicle while crossing Great George Street near the old Starbucks on Tuesday evening, say Charlottetown police.
The incident happened at around 6:25 p.m., said Deputy Chief Gary McGuigan.
"There was a vehicle on Kent Street turning left onto Great George and, at the same time, a pedestrian was coming across the crosswalk, heading west towards Queen Street," McGuigan explained.
"At some point, the vehicle struck the pedestrian while she was in the crosswalk. The pedestrian was taken to the [Queen Elizabeth Hospital] as a precaution. There were no major injuries."
One man has been charged under the province's Highway Traffic Act with failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian, McGuigan said.
