Northumberland Ferries cancelled two early morning crossings between P.E.I. and Nova Scotia Thursday, but the schedule will return to normal as of 10 a.m.
MV Saareema also had problems Wednesday
Northumberland Ferries cancelled two early morning crossings between P.E.I. and Nova Scotia Thursday, but the schedule will return to normal as of 10 a.m.
The 7 a.m. from Caribou, N.S. and the 8:30 a.m. from Wood Islands, P.E.I. were cancelled due to technical issues with MV Saaremaa. Some sailings of that ferry were also cancelled Wednesday.
Sailings on MV Confederation proceeded as normal.
The Saaremaa is a replacement ferry for MV Holiday Island. The Holiday Island caught fire during a sailing in July 2022 and had to be scrapped.
A permanent replacement for the Holiday Island is not expected to be ready until 2028.
