A search off of Victoria Park in Charlottetown has ended after a paddleboarder was located safe, police say.

Earlier Sunday, RCMP said in a news release that a man was last seen paddling in Charlottetown Harbour between 8 and 9 a.m.

Someone thought they spotted his paddleboard later with no one on it, so they reported it to police.

An RCMP spokesperson told CBC News that the caller mistook a chunk of ice for the man's paddleboard.

Police were able to locate the man just before 1 p.m. Sunday.
