Stabbing investigated by Charlottetown police
Victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, say police
A man was stabbed at a home in the north of Charlottetown late Sunday night, say police.
In a news release, Charlottetown police said they were called to a home on Andrews Court, in the Hillsborough Park neighbourhood, just before midnight.
The victim is a 31-year-old man, said police. He is recovering at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Deputy Chief Brad MacConnell said the victim sustained several stab wounds and was treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
"Well certainly with any incident [involving] a traumatic experience like a stabbing there was some, you know, panic," said MacConnell. "But our officers and emergency services personnel were on hand to deal with the situation and the subject was transported to QEH."
Police said they believe the victim and the suspect know each other and that there is no risk to the public.
"The whole incident is still under investigation," said MacConnell. "We have not made an arrest in this scene yet and we're not sure we have the complete picture of the events that occurred."
MacConnell said they hope to have someone in custody soon and is asking anyone with information to contact the police.
