Liberal Leader Wade MacLauchlan loses seat
PC candidate Bloyce Thompson wins race

Liberal Leader Wade MacLauchlan has lost his seat in District 8 Stanhope-Marshfield.
PC candidate Bloyce Thompson took the seat from the outgoing premier with a margin of 104 votes.
"I want to congratulate Bloyce Thompson as the successful candidate in Stanhope Marshfield," MacLauchlan said.
"He's a fine person and a good representative of our community and I look forward to him being our MLA in the future."
'The tide turned'
MacLauchlan was trying to lead the Liberals to an unprecedented fourth term as P.E.I.'s governing party.

"It's simple as the tide turned," MacLauchlan said. "We've had four years of good government, responsible government, exceptionally good management of the finances of the province and we've had a good, collegial, I would say, election campaign.
MacLauchlan also congratulated the other party leaders and thank Liberal party staff and volunteers as well as the 26 Liberal candidates who ran alongside him.
