Cause of Albany pork farm fire unable to be determined, says fire marshal
The fire in August was the second major blaze in two years at D & E Pork.
Temperatures were too hot, and there was too much destruction
The cause of a fire this past August at a hog farm has been ruled undetermined, due to extreme temperatures and the level of destruction.
The fire destroyed two barns at D & E Pork in Albany.
A release from the RCMP at the time said it was believed "many of the animals perished in the fire."
The fire marshal's office says the most likely cause of the fire was heating equipment being used for livestock.
It was the second major fire at the hog farm in the span of 18 months. In January 2023, thousands of hogs were killed in a fire on the property.
