The ferry service between P.E.I. and N.S. is operating again after cancelling three crossings on Tuesday morning due to mechanical problems.

The scheduled 9:30 crossing from Wood Islands, P.E.I. will go ahead.

Things went from bad to worse at Northumberland Ferries overnight as the MV Confederation was forced to tie up so repair crews could deal with the trouble. It left the ferry service without even a single boat to cross the strait.

Crews worked overnight to get the ferry running again.

Scheduled sailings at 3:30, 5:00 and 8:00 Tuesday morning were all cancelled while the boat was tied up in Wood Islands.
