More than $400 going to Anderson House
For the fourth year in a row, the Hughes-Jones Centre is using its horses to raise money for Anderson House, an emergency shelter for women and children in P.E.I.
"(It) makes us all feel like we're doing something special around Christmas time," said Ellen Jones, owner of the centre.
The centre offers free pony rides. In exchange, people are asked to give a donation.
Hannah Fong volunteers at the centre and helps with the fundraiser every year.
"It's doing what we like to do and it's helping the community, so it's nice to do every Christmas," said Fong.
Anderson House serves about 80 women and 60 children every year.
This year's pony-ride fundraiser raised more than $400, as well as donations that included items ranging from diapers to shampoo.
