Organizers of the Chase the Ace lottery in Tignish are taking extra measures to keep up with growing crowds.

A private security firm has been hired for crowd control. The next draw is tonight at 9:15.

The fundraiser has been attracting up to 2,500 people every week to the local legion and Tignish Centennial Arena.

The rink has rented a cover for the ice surface so the lottery can continue throughout the fall.

Harvey Myers, manager of the Credit Union Arena in Tignish, says he never imagined the lottery would get this big.

"Not in my lifetime. I thought there was only one Inverness, but maybe there's two," he said.

"I hope that it's going to keep going, being that we've gone this far now, I hope that it will go further."

The Chase the Ace jackpot reached just over $330,000 last week.

There are now only 15 cards left in the pack.
