Saturday service on Trillium Line to start Jan. 25
Expanded north-south light rail line re-opened Jan. 6 with weekday service only
Ottawa's recently re-opened Trillium Line will begin Saturday service on Jan. 25, the city announced Thursday.
In a memo, the city's general manager of transit said OC Transpo is ready to roll six days a week as part of the expanded north-south light rail line's staged re-opening.
Trillium Line trains will run on Saturdays between 6:30 a.m. and midnight. Trains on the east-west Confederation Line will continue to run between 6 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.
The $870-million Trillium Line expansion added eight stops to the existing five, extending the line to Riverside South and the Ottawa International Airport.
Weekday service began Jan. 6, allowing for maintenance and troubleshooting on weekends. It will be at least two more weeks before Sunday service is added.
