An Ottawa police officer suffered minor injuries while responding to a loud house party in Sandy Hill on Tuesday night.
Police were called to the party on the 100-block of Henderson Avenue, near Osgoode Street, just before 9 p.m.
Two officers became involved in an altercation with some of the partygoers and more police were called in to assist, according to Ottawa police spokesman Const. Marc Soucy.
A female officer was assaulted and went to hospital to be assessed as a precaution. She was then released, Soucy said.
Five people from the party were arrested. Charges had not been laid as of Wednesday morning, Soucy said.
