Woman facing 2nd-degree murder charge for Overbrook stabbing

Ottawa police allege a 45-year-old woman fatally stabbed a man early Wednesday morning just east of the city's core.

Ottawa police allege a 45-year-old woman stabbed a man to death early Wednesday morning just east of the city's core.

Thirty-six-year-old Robert Vides from Ottawa was killed around 4:45 a.m. in a building near the west end of Presland Road, according to city police and paramedics on Friday.

Paramedics said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Ottawa resident Judith Brennan, 45, has been charged with second-degree murder. She is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

The scene is just east of the Vanier Parkway and north of RCGT Park and Highway 417, about three kilometres east of Parliament Hill.
