The second of two suspects accused of murdering a man in Ottawa last month has now been apprehended, more than a month after police issued a warrant for his arrest.

Omar Jonathan Grant, 25, of Ottawa was fatally stabbed inside an Ottawa Community Housing building on St. Laurent Boulevard on Feb. 15.

Two days later, Ottawa police announced they'd arrested 25-year-old Jacob Blanchard and charged him with second-degree murder and assault with a weapon.

Another 25 year old, Samuel Laurin-Gauvreau, was charged with the same offences but remained at large.

On Monday, Ottawa police confirmed they'd arrested Laurin-Gauvreau, but did not say where or when. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

Grant's family has described him as jokester who grew up loving football and always looking out for others.
