Ontario Votes 2025: Renfrew–Nipissing–Pembroke

This is the first election this century that John Yakabuski's name isn't on this large rural riding's ballot.

This riding includes Renfrew County plus a piece of the District of Nipissing that includes Madawaska, Whitney and eastern Algonquin Park. It also contains Garrison Petawawa and Pikwàkanagàn.

Progressive Conservative John Yakabuski has been its MPP since 2003, winning by 645 votes over the Liberals in his first campaign before earning a cushion of at least 15,000 votes in subsequent elections.

Yakabuski is not seeking re-election.

Six candidates are currently running for the seat. CBC adds candidates when they're confirmed by Elections Ontario or listed by one of the four parties with a seat at Queen's Park at dissolution.

Nominations close Feb. 13.

Voting is now possible at local election offices. Advance voting locations are open Feb. 20-22. Voting day is Feb. 27. Elections Ontario has more information on the range of voting options.
