CBC News projects Liberal Marie-France Lalonde will keep representing the east Ottawa riding of Orléans.

Its voters chose Liberals from 1988 to 2006, then Royal Galipeau held it for the Conservatives until 2015. The Liberals have the three most recent wins.

Lalonde was re-elected in 2021 with about 52 per cent of votes. Her two previous federal wins came after two provincial wins going back to 2014.

After the usual independent boundary review, Orléans turned Blackburn Hamlet over to Ottawa-Vanier–Gloucester and sent other areas to the renamed Prescott-Russell-Cumberland.

Nearly 30 per cent of residents told the 2021 census that French was their mother tongue, among the highest levels in Ontario. Neighbouring Prescott-Russell-Cumberland has the highest percentage by far.

Eight candidates ran in Orléans this time. Conservative Steve Mansour came second.
