Gatineau says yes to more Steven MacKinnon
Liberal MP back in the riding that shares its name with the western Quebec city

The riding of Gatineau may have seen its boundaries shaken up, but CBC News projects it will keep Liberal MP Steven MacKinnon.
One of four federal ridings in the western Quebec city of the same name, Gatineau underwent big geographical changes under the regular independent boundary review.
It's been Liberal under MacKinnon since 2015 and mostly Liberal since 1949, but other parties — like the NDP from 2011 until 2015 — have occasionally held it.
Before his election as MP, MacKinnon worked as a consultant on corporate mergers, advising Paul Martin when he was prime minister and Frank McKenna when he was premier of New Brunswick.
MacKinnon most recently served as Canada's minister of jobs and families.
Six candidates ran here this time. Conservative Kethlande Pierre came second, improving the party's third-place finish in 2021.
