Two teenagers are facing rioting charges after six people were injured at Nova Scotia's only long-term correctional facility for youth.
Around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a call at the Nova Scotia Youth Facility in Waterville, N.S.
Four males — an 18-year-old, a 19-year-old and two 17-year-olds — were "involved in an altercation with staff," Nova Scotia RCMP said in a release Monday.
Five youth workers and one of the teens were hurt, the statement said. Four of the staff injured were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The others were treated on scene by paramedics.
The 19-year-old faces charges of mischief and rioting. The 18-year-old is charged with mischief, rioting and assault causing bodily harm.
