Houston to lead 5-day trade mission to Denmark
N.S. premier heading to Copenhagen this weekend with government delegation

Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston is headed to Denmark for a five-day trade mission.
A news release says Houston and a delegation from the provincial government will travel to Copenhagen on Saturday, with plans to meet with new and existing trade partners. Those meetings will include sectors such as health care, energy and seafood.
The release says Houston and Energy Minister Trevor Boudreau will attend WindEurope's annual event April 8-10. Denmark is aiming to reach complete fossil-fuel-free electricity by 2035, with an interest and expertise in hydrogen and wind energy, according to the news release.
Along with Boudreau, the premier's delegation includes his chief of staff and lawyer, Nicole LaFosse Parker; executive deputy minister Tracey Taweel; and executive director of international relations Mike McMurrary.
The trip comes at a time when the province, along with the rest of Canada and other countries around the world, attempt to contend with tariffs from the United States government. Nova Scotia and the rest of Canada face the added challenge of tariffs from China, which will apply to seafood — one of the province's most significant exports.
Houston's government passed legislation last month, with all-party support, that would break down interprovincial trade barriers with any province or territory willing to pass mirror legislation.
