Search for James Cuthbert, 71, ends

Police have concluded their search for James Cuthbert, a 71-year-old man who has been missing since Oct. 26.

Police have concluded their search for James Cuthbert, a 71-year-old man who left his Nova Scotia home on Oct. 26 and didn't return.

Investigators believe Cuthbert went overboard while he was on a ferry from North Sydney, N.S., to Port aux Basques, N.L., on Oct. 26-27, Halifax Regional Police said Saturday.

Foul play is not suspected, police added.

Police said investigators looked at video evidence and concluded that Cuthbert was on the ferry but didn't get off.

Cuthbert left his home in Head of Jeddore on the morning of Oct. 26. He was last seen that afternoon at the Home Depot parking lot in Dartmouth Crossing.
