Nova Scotia RCMP are investigating after a woman was reportedly abducted from the parkade of the Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

Police said she somehow escaped her alleged abductor in Truro and made her way to the town's RCMP detachment on Prince Street.

Cpl. Joe Taplin, an RCMP spokesman, said police are investigating a case of unlawful confinement as well as other offences, though he would not elaborate.

He said officers are reviewing surveillance tapes from the airport's parkade, and an investigator is taking a statement from the woman.
