Everyone within 800 metres of the Bonny Lea Farm had been asked to leave Sunday night

People near the Bonny Lea Farm in the Municipality of the District of Chester were allowed to return home around 12:30 a.m. Monday, about two hours after an emergency alert was issued asking them to leave the area due to a propane leak.
An emergency alert was sent at 10:33 p.m. Sunday by the Lunenburg County Regional Emergency Management Organization. It said there is a propane leak in the vicinity of 10 Berties Way off Highway 14.
The alert asked all residents within 800 metres of the area to evacuate.
Emergency officials went door-to-door urging people to leave, said Erin Lowe, the municipality's chief administrative officer.
Lowe said about 10 people showed up at a comfort centre that was opened at the Chester Basin Fire Hall.
Local fire departments, RCMP and Irving Propane all responded to the scene, Lowe said, adding that she had no additional information about the exact source of the leak.
Lowe said Irving Propane gave the all clear for residents to return to their homes just before 12:30 a.m.
