Shelburne stabbing sends woman, 26, to hospital with serious injuries

A 26-year-old Welshtown, N.S., woman was sent to hospital Friday night with serious injuries after a stabbing in Shelburne, N.S.

Woman, 31, charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault

A 26-year-old Welshtown, N.S., woman was sent to hospital late Friday with serious injuries after a stabbing in Shelburne, N.S.

In a news release, RCMP say a 31-year-old Shelburne woman faces charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault.

Police say they responded to a report of a stabbing near the 100 block of King Street around 10 p.m. AT.

RCMP say the victim and accused knew each other, and that the stabbing took place outside of a home.

The accused was arrested inside a nearby home.

She will appear in Yarmouth provincial court Monday to answer to the charges.
