Nova Scotia chiropractor charged with two more counts of sexual assault
Philip Louis LaPierre was also charged with sexual assault last year relating to alleged incident in 2024
A Kentville chiropractor has been charged with two additional counts of sexual assault.
Philip Louis LaPierre, 72, is due in court in April to answer to the charges, Kentville Police Services said in a news release this week.
Police said in the release that they began an investigation after they were contacted last October by someone who alleged they had been sexually assaulted twice in 1983 by a then licensed chiropractor.
Last September, LaPierre was charged with a single count of sexual assault relating to an alleged incident earlier in 2024. He faces trial on that charge over two days this fall.
In 2007, LaPierre was charged with sexual assault but was found not guilty. A disciplinary hearing by the Nova Scotia College of Chiropractors found him guilty of professional misconduct and reprimanded him.
LaPierre was disciplined again in 2008 for offences the college found predated the incident that was the subject of the 2007 disciplinary decision. He was found guilty of professional misconduct and fined $2,500.
LaPierre is not currently practising.
