Joseph Douglas Cameron homicide leads to search of 3 residences

Halifax Regional Police say they searched three homes in Dartmouth in relation to the investigation into the shooting death of Joseph Douglas Cameron.

Police say they searched 3 residences in the Kennedy Drive and Spring Avenue area Sunday evening

Halifax Regional Police say weekend searches at three homes found "items of potential interest" relating to the shooting death of a 20-year-old man in Dartmouth. 

Joseph Douglas Cameron was shot and killed last week in the Spring Avenue and Mount Edward Road area.

Police say as part of the investigation into the homicide, they searched homes in the Kennedy Drive and Spring Avenue area between 6 p.m. Sunday evening and 1:30 a.m. Monday.

They did not say what they recovered or if any arrests were made.

Cameron's body was found March 29 around 5:20 a.m. on a sidewalk after policed received reports that shots had been fired. 

Police say Cameron was not known to them. 

The homicide unit is leading the investigation into his death. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers either by submitting an anonymous  tip online, texting it with "Tip 202" to 274637 or calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
