Halifax police seek vehicle involved in homicide last week

The suspect in the fatal shooting of Uriah Black last week was driving a blue Honda CRV, investigators say. Police want to speak to anyone with information that could identify the vehicle, its owner or its current location.

Halifax Regional Police are turning to the public for help to find a vehicle that was used by the suspect in the shooting death of 38-year-old Uriah Lemar Black last week.

Police were called to a report of a shooting on McFatridge Road in the Fairview neighbourhood of Halifax on Thursday, Feb. 20, at around 6:20 a.m.

The victim was found unconscious on a sidewalk and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead, a police news release said. The case is being investigated as a homicide.

Investigators say the suspect was driving a blue Honda CRV.

Police want anyone with information that could identify the vehicle, its owner or its current location to contact them at 902-490-5020. 

Police are also looking for video from McFatridge Road and surrounding streets between midnight and 6 a.m. on Feb. 20.

Police said they do not believe the shooting was a random incident.
