The 11th annual Cape Breton Fiddlers Run on Sunday is in step with another popular event happening this week in Cape Breton.

Run co-chair David Gabriel says they are making a connection with the Celtic Colours International Festival.

"It's great music for a run," Gabriel said. "So we have Celtic music at different spots on the course and the Cape Breton Highlanders pipe band is going to be providing entertainment and encouragement."

Close to 600 people will take part in the Fiddlers Run. There is a half-marathon, a half-marathon relay, a five-kilometre run and walk, and a 10-kilometre run.

There is a children's event Saturday evening called the Glowing Hearth Youth Run. There's also a sports expo, a pasta dinner, storytelling circle, dancing and Celtic music.
