Feb 24, Halifax Central Library: How to communicate better with the people closest to you and be heard

Together, they will tell stories and provide insights to better navigate family, friends and relationships, while being true to yourself.
Local musician O'Sound along with a back-up band will provide musical entertainment throughout the evening.
This event is part of the Hear Me Out conversation series, a partnership between CBC and Halifax Public Libraries, that explores challenging and timely topics with an open mind.
Big thinkers invite us to broaden our perspectives and build understanding
- Elamin Abdelmahmoud, author of Son of Elsewhere: A Memoir in Pieces, will speak about navigating intergenerational and intercultural relationships.
- Rhaina Cohen, author of The Other Significant Others: Reimagining Life with Friendship at the Center, will speak about friendship, social connection, and the changing landscape of relationships.
- francesca ekwuyasi, author of Butter Honey Pig Bread, will speak about trust and security with oneself as a starting point for relationships with others.
There will be an audience Q&A, and books will be available for purchase, courtesy of Bookmark.
The conversation will be recorded and featured on CBC's Atlantic Voice.
