The CBC Kids News contributor search is an annual, countrywide call for applications from kids ages nine to 15. From Feb. 20 to April 22, 2025, we're accepting submissions for new kid contributors to join our team of enthusiastic on-camera stars.

What to expect

This year, our hiring producer will be at Mic Mac Mall in Dartmouth, N.S., on March 15, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m to talk to kids ages nine to 15 who are interested in applying for this year's CBC Kids News Contributor Search.

This is a great opportunity for applicants to speak with a real-life producer.

Not sure you want to be a contributor, but you're curious about what we do? Even if you're not the right age, or if this isn't your year to apply, CBC Kids News will host some fun, hands-on activities that will be worth coming to check out.

Think you could report the news? Test out your skills at the CBC Kids News pop-up bureau and learn tips and tricks from a CBC Kids News contributor. You can also challenge your friends and see who can spot the real news stories in a fun and interactive game called Fact or Fiction: News Edition.
