Bridgewater school's 'questionable image' complaint involved nude photos
Police receive approval to examine students' phones
An incident that led to the suspension of nine male students at Bridgewater Junior Senior High School last month involved questionable images of nude and partially clothed students, police said Monday.
Bridgewater police were called to the school on May 12 by the principal, who learned of images being shared without the consent of the people in them.
Nine boys were suspended from school when the incident was first reported. Their suspensions ranged from one to five days and all of them have since returned to the classroom, a spokesperson for the South Shore Regional School Board said Monday.
School authorities seized a number of students' phones, which they turned over to police.
On Monday, Bridgewater police got approval from a judge to send the phones to the RCMP Technological Crime Unit for examination. The police investigation continues.
