Starting Monday morning, the A. Murray MacKay and Angus L. Macdonald bridges will no longer have tolls. As work to bring down the toll plazas continues, there are questions about how it will all work for drivers. Josh Hoffman explains.

The Angus L. Macdonald Bridge will be closed for the next two weekends so that its toll plaza can be removed.

The bridge closed on Friday, March 14 at 7 p.m. and will reopen on Monday, March 17 at 5:30 a.m.

The bridge will close again on Friday, March 21 at 7 p.m. and reopen on Monday, March 24 at 5:30 a.m.

Halifax Harbour Bridges said in a news release that pedestrians and cyclists will share the pedestrian lane March 14-17 and could experience delays.

When the Macdonald Bridge opens on March 17, there will be new lane configurations.

Traffic will be routed to the right outside lanes on the A. Murray MacKay Bridge in both directions starting Monday, March 17, as work gets underway to remove its toll plaza.
