Cpl. Shawn Pollard says Operation Impact was aimed at reminding people about safe driving habits before winter comes.

He says eight people were charged with impaired driving and 12 were issued 24-hour driving suspensions.

"On two of those occasions the people were caught driving after being issued the 24-hour suspensions, which is also very troubling," he said.

Pollard says about 250 people total were charged over the weekend, including 85 speeding tickets and 14 for using a cell phone while driving.
