8 people face charges after 3 separate raids in the city on Tuesday

Yellowknife RCMP have charged eight people after a string of drug busts in the city Tuesday, where officers arrested 16 people and seized drugs at three separate residences.
Seven men and one woman are now facing a slew of drug charges, including trafficking cocaine and marijuana. One person is also charged with obstructing a police officer.

All but one of the accused are from the Yellowknife area; the other is from Alberta.
RCMP say the seizure included more than 100 individually packaged rocks of cocaine, fentanyl, a number of firearms, and tens of thousands of dollars in cash.

In a news release, RCMP say they've confirmed that three of those firearms and an ammunition box with ammunition, were stolen during a recent break and enter in Yellowknife.
The investigation is ongoing.
RCMP say further drug and weapons charges are pending, as well as charges related to the stolen firearms.
