Teenager charged with murder after alleged stabbing in Fort Good Hope, N.W.T.

A 14-year-old girl has been arrested and charged with murder after a police found a female with severe injuries in a Fort Good Hope, N.W.T., residence on the weekend. The alleged victim later died in the community health centre.

Police in Fort Good Hope, N.W.T., have arrested and charged a youth after a fatal stabbing Sunday. 

RCMP found a female victim with severe injuries at a home in the community Sunday morning. In a news release Monday, RCMP said officers transported her to the local health centre where she died shortly after.

A 14-year-old girl has been arrested and charged with murder. Because of her age, the accused can't be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. She has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Yellowknife on Tuesday. 

Sunday's incident follows another alleged murder last month in the Sahtu community of about 500 people.
