Kimmirut child catches on fire, suffers minor burns

A child suffered minor burns in Kimmirut, Nunavut, while playing with fire and flammable liquids on Tuesday, say RCMP.

A child suffered minor burns on Tuesday in Kimmirut, Nunavut, during an incident involving flammable liquids.

RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Yvonne Niego says three children aged six to nine were playing with fire outdoors in Kimmirut on Tuesday when one suffered burns. (CBC)

RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Yvonne Niego says three children aged six to nine were playing outdoors.

"The children were playing with fire and accidentally one child suffered burns from catching partly on fire," she said. 

The incident is under investigation. Niego says children should not have access to gas and other flammable products.
