An evacuation alert in the Yukon for Mayo and Keno City has lifted.
In a news release Friday, the territory's emergency measures organization said the threat from the wildfire has died down due to rain, containment efforts and reduced fire weather.
The evacuation alert had been in place for almost a week. It was issued last Saturday as the Roaring Forks fire flared up.
As of Friday, Yukon's wildfire service had reported that fire has burned 687 hectares and is still classified as out of control. However, "quiet fire conditions" have persisted and rain has fallen in the past 24 hours.
